Happy Valentines Day!!

HI Friends!

I just can't believe how fast time is flying!! Its Valentines Day already. Liesl hit 15 months on the 10th. She is a walking, talking little doll and we sure are in love with her. Sh'e been keeping busy learning all kinds of new words: pizza, pretty, bicycle, money, Elmo, and Brother are among our favorites. She has a mouth full of teeth now and her toothy grin makes us smile. She got her ears pierced last month. We took a trip to the mall on a snow day and I said "what the heck, let's just do it" She barely even cried. :)

Braeden has started travel baseball this month with indoor practices every weekend. Oh and fundraisers, we've started those too. :) He brought home straight A's again this report period and even has a new girlfriend named Alyssa.

I decided to sell Mary Kay this year and am really enjoying the make up and the contacts I've been making. The daycare business has its own rewards, but sitting in a basement day after day with no adult interaction is beginning to take a toll on me.

Scott is a work horse as always. Working both jobs 6 days a week keeps him out of trouble. He is still enjoying those Cavs season tickets we were coerced into owning.

We are looking forward to the spring, and especially the summer, as we have officially booked our summer vacation to Myrtle Beach. We can hardly wait.

If you know me at all, you know that I love birthdays. Everybody's, but especially mine. And no i didn't even mind it this year. 3 5. well maybe only for a tiny little second. I think I actually felt my ovaries drying up, but i digress. Scott made my birthday extra special this year with flowers and lots of gluten free pastries and cupcakes so I could indulge. I haven't eaten a healthy breakfast in a week.

the fudge on that thing was so rich it took me two days to finally get to the cupcake.

Liesl and Braeden enjoyed new years this year too. They had an overnight at Mema's new apartment. Liesl's first overnight out of the house with no Mommy. She did great of course, though I had my doubts. And chip off the old block, she loves her tiaras too!!

Leslie's House of Snot

Just sitting here thinking about how much I hate snot.

I have a profession in which 90% of the time ALL or some of the children in my care have some sort of snotty nose.

The amount of tissues I go through in this place could stuff a living room of couches.

It shoots out in rockets, it drips, it runs, it hangs. It comes in clear, yellow, green and sometimes orange.
They lick it, they blow it, they touch it, they smear it from ear to ear. Sometimes it even stretches an arms length.
Ever heard of a nasal aspirator? Its a fun little gadget you can use to SUCK it from their face and then squirt it into a kleenex. Really?!?! Suction snot out of a 12 month olds unwilling face. This is my job.
And despite its complete and utter grossness, they HATE it when you try to wipe it off of them. So there is screaming and crying and squirming and it just gets all over everywhere, including my clothing, my furniture and my hair. Yea, snot in your hair is awesome.
Thinking of renaming the place "Leslie's House of Snot"
