Braedens weekend

Braeden and I had a weekend full of togetherness. We all spent a little time with Grandpa Eye (Scotts dad the optician) and the doggies on friday night. This is a new favorite past time for Braeden. They play the jukebox and the old school video game Centipede and make fresh popcorn in his big machine.

Friday afternoon we went to his class skating party at Brunswick Skate Center. He had a great time and I laughed alot watching all the little kids trying to skate. Lets just say they spent alot of time on their butts!! Apparently roller skating is a lost skill, which breaks my heart because I spent most of my Friday nights during adolesence at the rink.

These are Braedens friends Kyle and Evan.

Here is his whole class. His teacher Miss Green skated with them the whole time. SHe is so cute.
Braeden loves to cook. He talked me into letting him make french toast on Saturday morning. And then he didnt even eat it all. Grrrr. But he did a great job and I was sorry I couldn't taste it.

He took the camera and snapped off a bunch of shots of Liesl and of course his favorite self portrait.

And then on Sunday he woke up with a terrible fever and swollen tonsils and spent the WHOLE day on the couch. Poor baby, but doesn't he look so sweet.

My Daycare

This is my daycare center!! I am anxious to get back to work after taking a 7 month maternity leave. :) If you know anyone who is looking for care or is unhappy with their current situation I would greatly appreciate your referral.

This is the playroom. Kitchen, dress up clothes and vanity, blackboard, work bench, and McDonalds.

Here is our breakfast/snack table, book nook, and train table. To the right is my laundry room/kitchen so I can make snacks and drinks.
All of our toys!!! Blocks, cars and trucks, stuffed animals, Little People, Lincoln logs and much more.

This is the changing station in the napping room which is separate from the playroom and has a door I can close for quiet.

All the pack and plays for napping. I have four but could probably fit a few more. I also have mats for older kids who might still need to nap.

Once I get a few children I'll be moving down a small couch and a TV and DVD so we can watch some kids shows every now and then.
I'm also looking for some good ideas as to where to leave a flyer or business card to advertise, so please let me know if you think of any.

a little nature right in my front yard.

This is the view from the office window at the front of the house. The deer were walking up between the houses from the woods in the backyard .

All together we counted 11 with 4 Mommies and the rest were young. They hung around the tree and nibbled on mulch.

And then they run across the street into the woods behind that house.

With all the snow melting, the yard was pretty soft, they left behinl thd a big mess. It is still such a cool thing to see.

a little snow anyone??? thats ok we think its FUN!!

We got a few inches of snow over the past few weeks. almost 12 I think. Scott had the snow blower out several times already. We loved our yard in the summer and we LOVE it in the winter too!!

We have a small hill on the back corner of our yard thats great for sledriding. You have to steer when you get to the bottom so you dont hit a tree, but its still fun.

Abby and Drew came over this weekend and had fun playing outside. They tried to build a snowman... Drew liked knocking it down much more.

OUr neighbors have an even BIGGER hill in their back yard. We take it upon ourselves to trespass a little and utilize it. :)

Braeden had a visit with Papa and they played in the snow there too. And Braeden helped shovel the driveway.

They took a walk on the railroad tracks and B made Papa into target practice.

READY>>>> AIM>>>>>>>>FIRE!!!!!!!!!!

Our new niece and cousin!! We are so excited to welcome her. She was a week late and kept us all on the edge of our seat in anticipation.
This is my brother Dan. He and his wife Jen and their other two children Annalisa and Axel live in Oregon. They are both doctors in the hospital where she was born.
My sister in law is a trooper. she went natural with no drugs ALL three times.

Its times like this that we wish we lived closer. We miss them very much.

my husband, the father

Ok so I forgot to load the pics in reverse order..

Watching Scott become a father has been an experience. :) For a guy who said she only neeeded 3 outfits, and 2 bottles and that he was never going to change a diaper... well lets just say he's eating his words.

He's no natural, but he certainly has a magic touch with her. She goes from meltdown crying to silent adoration when he holds her.
All he has to do is put her on his chest and she will sleep peacefully for hours. (she wont sit still on my chest)

I don't think he really believed in love at first sight... but he definately does now. One of these days I need to tape him singing to her. His favorite is a bouncy version of "Who let the dogs out" It works like a charm.

Everyday when he's at work I try to send him a pic of her. and everyday he says "She's Silly"
Having a baby has certainly changed our family, our marriage, and a man into a father.

Mystery Reader

WAAYY back in November, the week before the baby was due, Braeden's teacher asked me to be a mystery reader for his class. Braeden came home from school all excited that his class was going to have a mystery reader as a reward for their good behavior. I was worried he would be disappointed when he saw it was just his ol' mom. He wasn't though. :) Just to make things special I brought in fruit roll ups and pencils to pass out.

I was pretty nervous, but I think I did ok. I read my very favorite childhood book. "Stand Back said the Elephant" I love the pictures in it too. SOme of the kids said they had heard it before, but its a really old book so.....

I had a great time, I think Braeden was proud of me and of course he tried to get everyone to feel my tummy. Look at me... Damn I was huge.

Braeden's 7th Birthday

Braeden's birthday was December 8th. He turned 7. We had his party on the 6th. I invited a whole pile of kids, and although all of his school friends told him they were coming... only 1 of them did. (lesson: please RSVP when asked, it really does matter)

Braeden's dad and I took the 4 children to Firefly Glow in the Dark Mini Golf inside our mall. It was the first time I had left the baby, and I was a little nervous. Trent has a lot more patience than I, so he took them all in his car.

I think all of the kids had a very good time! Believe it or not it was relatively inexpensive. I wish I knew why they were all in such a hurry. We came back to the house afterward for cake and icecream. This year Braeden wanted an Oreo Blizzard cake from Dairy Queen. I was surprised he didn't opt for a super hero cake of some sort.

He got everything he asked for. Of course.
On a side note: I was very proud of my family. My ex husband and my current husband were in the same room for several hours. As were my recently and still bitterly divorced parents. And included in the guest list were my ex's new girlfriends daughter and his nephew. I hope that someday Braeden realizes how much he is loved.

Happy Birthday to ME!!

I love my
birthday!! This year I turned 34. I celebrate birthdays like a little kid.
I was determined to have an awesome day this year.
Scott let me sleep in by taking care of the baby when she woke up in the morning. It was great.

I made gluten free white cake cupcakes with pink funfetti icing. Yummy!

Scott made secret dinner reservations and my mom came over to babysit.
For starters I had wine and cheese and some of the candy I got from Scott. We are candy junkies. Scott also bought me a gift certificate to Mario's spa. Well 2 actually, one for a mani pedi with parafin, and 1 with a couples package for a whole spa day. I needed that sooo much and I CANNOT wait.

Dinner was at The BluePointe Grille in Cleveland.
I had The Blue Heaven: Lobster, scallops, shrimp and mashers. Plus a half of a bottle of Pinot Grigio.

For dessert we went to Pickwick and Frolic and I had a Raspberry Sparkler martini. or 3.

Sebastian Maniscalco was headlining. He is one of Scotts favorite comedians. We have seen him twice before and he's been on the tonight show and TBS. He is very funny and we laughed alot.

This is us with Sebastian.

And to finish off the night we went to the Blue Moose in Parma. Apparently they don't feel like obeying the laws because they had a smoking room and the place smelled like an ashtray. so did I by the end of the night. But they also had a good DJ and a dance floor. I danced like I was all alone in my room. :) Good times!!
